Getting Kicked Out of Home

If you have been kicked out of home, or if you think that it’s not safe for you to be there, you can contact Housing Connect by calling their 1800 800 588 advice line number – the line is free to call, and is open 24 hours a day.  You can also call in to one of their seven offices around Tasmania if you can (Housing Connect have offices in Hobart, Rosny, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Smithton and Queenstown).

Housing Connect can offer you immediate assistance with finding a place to stay, they will also provide you with information and guidance with what you can do in the long term, and they can refer you to support services who can help you.

(If you’ve been in a family violence situation, you can also call the Family Violence Response and Referral Line on 1800 633 937 – they can help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with counselling, information and support services. In an emergency, you should call the Police on 000).
